Achieve Clearer Vision with LASIK Surgery

Did you know that LASIK eye surgery has one of the highest patient satisfaction rates among elective procedures? LASIK has proven effective in treating astigmatism, nearsightedness, and farsightedness, allowing many people to experience clearer vision and reduce or eliminate their dependence on glasses or contact lenses.

Invest in Your Vision with LASIK

When you choose LASIK, you’re making a long-term investment in your vision. Think about how much you spend annually on glasses, prescription sunglasses, and contact lenses. Rather than continually paying for these, LASIK offers a permanent solution that’s more affordable than ever, with various payment plans to suit your budget.

What is LASIK Surgery?

LASIK, short for Laser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis, is a quick outpatient procedure that uses laser technology to reshape the cornea and correct vision. The surgery typically takes about 15 minutes for both eyes, and most patients notice improved vision within hours. Many are able to return to their regular activities the next day.

Experience Life-Changing Results

At Cosmetic and Laser Surgery, we’ve been performing LASIK for over two decades, using the latest technology under the expertise of Dr. Noaman Sanni and Dr. Debra Koloms. Imagine waking up each morning with clear vision, no longer needing to reach for your glasses or contacts. With LASIK, you can fully enjoy your daily activities and hobbies with newfound clarity.

Correcting Common Vision Issues with LASIK

  • Nearsightedness (Myopia): Myopia makes it difficult to see distant objects clearly, resulting in blurry vision. LASIK has a long history of successfully treating this condition.

  • Farsightedness (Hyperopia): Hyperopia affects close-up vision, making it hard to focus on nearby objects. Advances in LASIK technology have made this condition easily treatable.

  • Astigmatism: This condition causes blurred vision due to an irregularly shaped cornea or lens. LASIK can correct astigmatism by reshaping the cornea for better focus.

Am I a candidate for LASIK?

  1. No change in prescription within the last 12 months

  2. Must be 18 or over.

  3. Not pregnant or nursing. Women must wait at least three months after they stop breastfeeding before undergoing LASIK.

  4. No history of eye disease. People with conditions like glaucoma, corneal impairments, problems with the Retina, or recurring eye infections may not be suitable for LASIK.

  5. Have certain corneal thickness. Patients who have thin corneas might benefit more from a procedure called Photorefractive Keratectomy or PRK.

No matter what happens after your consultation at Cosmetic and Laser Surgery, whether you’re not a candidate or you decide LASIK isn’t for you, you’ll leave with valuable insights about your eyes.

The LASIK Procedure: A Step-by-Step Overview

LASIK surgery involves two main steps to correct refractive errors and improve vision:

  1. Creating a Corneal Flap: This can be done with a microkeratome blade or a femtosecond laser, depending on the method chosen for your surgery.

  2. Reshaping the Cornea: An excimer laser is then used to reshape the cornea according to your specific vision needs.

Here’s what you can expect on the day of your surgery:

  • Numbing drops will be applied to your eyes.

  • Your eyelids will be gently held open.

  • A flap will be created on your cornea.

  • The laser will reshape your cornea while you relax.

After reshaping the cornea, the flap will be repositioned, where it will naturally heal over time. Your surgeon will likely prescribe eye drops to manage any redness or dryness. You’ll have follow-up appointments to monitor your healing process.

Don’t take it from us, what do our patients have to say about their experience?

Emily - A few weeks ago I got laser eye surgery and it has been nothing short of amazing! I cannot believe how well I can see through my own eyes! Also fun fact, I have not experienced the migraines I had when I had glasses since the surgery and I am more confident than ever that most of my migraines I had for years were because of my terrible vision even in glasses. If you are thinking about getting LASIK, DO IT!

Frannie - I had LASIK done and the CLS staff were phenomenal, they walked you through everything that was expected to be done they made sure if you had any concerns they were answered in a way you would understand and made you feel relaxed and comfortable and talked to you very pleasantly and welcoming. I Would Highly Recommend them for any of Surgery or Lasik Needs 10 out of 10!

Abby - Great experience. I was super nervous to get LASIK eye surgery but the staff were all amazing and confident, which in turn helped me. I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people, very friendly!
